Heart of brain disabled young woman sent to Bangalore
Rakshita Palakar, the first PUC student who fell from the bus and became brain disabled, was touched by the grief of the parents. Even in pain, the parents donated their daughter's organs, and even in death, the young woman found fulfillment.
SH, daughter of Shekhar Nayka and Lakshmibai of Somanahalli Tanda in Kadur taluk. Rakshitabai (17) has become successful even in her death. She was studying in the first year PU Commerce Department at Basavanahalli Girls' PU College, Chikkamagaluru and was staying in a hostel.
As usual, on September 18, she left for her relative's house in Chikkamagaluru by bus. On the way, Rakshitabai fell from the bus near the housing board of Chikkamagaluru and suffered a serious head injury. The locals admitted him to the hospital. The brain is disabled, the news has sent parents into a frenzy.
Despite the pain, the parents agreed to donate their daughter's eyes, heart, kidney, lungs and liver on the doctor's advice.
As per the consent of the parents, the doctors made all the necessary preparations for Rakshita's multiple organ donation, a team of special doctors came to the district hospital and the surgery was performed, accordingly, Rakshita's heart was sent from Chikkamagalur to Bangalore by a special helicopter for a heart transplant to a patient in Manipal Hospital, Bangalore.
